Hawt Jewelry! Fetish bodywear&accesories from Mexico

I'm a huge fan of plastic jewelry from rings, earrings, necklaces, to bracelets. I used to love walking through the aisles of endless plastic materials at Industrial Plastics in Chinatown (which I always called International House of Plastics, haha). I love the different textures, colors, mirrors, and how the plastic can be cut into almost any design. So I'm very happy to have come upon today's find with Fetish bodywear&accessories designs from Mexico. They are playful, bold, chic, and plastic!

Fetish bodywear&accesories, is a concept created from a music and design fusion, believing that these two concepts go together. Bistueria and accessories in laser cutting, mostly in acrylic, high quality and modern design. Fetish bodywear & accesories is aimed at people who enjoy urban fashion, design and music in general. No Longer Empty is pleased to present Weaving In & Out, a collaborative exhibition in a new green development in East Harlem. The exhibit will take over the raw ground floor space of a residential property called Tapestry located at 245 East 124th St.

In keeping with No Longer Empty’s curatorial practice of site specificity, this exhibition explores the interactions between this particular space and its surrounding physical and cultural contexts. "Weaving" appears in the title as a metaphor for the interconnected artistic actions, and the intertwining of people, projects and ideas here.

The exhibition and accompanying programming were organized in collaboration with The Artist Pension Trust, Art for Change, El Museo del Barrio and The West Harlem Art Fund.

Buzzing for Persephone's Bees Highline Ballroom Show Thurs, June 17th!

Persephone's Bees is an Oakland-based rock/pop group who caught my ears back in 2006 w/ the songs "Nice Day" and "City of Love".

I fell in love w/ their look and sound, but to this day haven't had a chance to see them live! On Thurs, June 17th they are performing at Highline Ballroom and I can't wait!

Something else about this band that gets my heart thumping is that the singer; Angelina Moysov also sings in Russian (she grew up in Pyatigorsk, Russia and immigrated to America in 1993) - "Muzika Dlya Fil'ma", "Little Boxes", and "Nostalgia".

Some songs have gained popularity through TV shows and commercials; "City Of Love" was in the film Bewitched, "Nice Day" is used in a Hilton Hotels TV commercial for the Hilton Hotels and the Nancy Drew movie, and Angelina's vocal was used in the opening titles soundtrack of the Showtime show Weeds.

Watch the two music videos below and you'll notice that they both go hand in hand to form a short story. loves it!

I'm a big fan of music, art, shoes, clothes, and jewelry asi que I'm gonna start blogging about more than just music!

First jewelry blog post is: Ceciliana Biaggi a designer from Puerto Rico; her pieces are all hand made in silver and gold. She likes to mix it up with different materials like precious stones, crystals, plastic and antiques that she finds in flea markets. She also likes to recycle stuff and make things more contemporary with vintage accents. And most importantly all her pieces are unique.

I love Pee-Wee Herman so much I wanna marry him!! Not really, but I really, really, really love him and his show. I grew up watching the TV show and all the movies (over and over and over).

I am happy to admit I dressed up as Pee-Wee for Halloween in middle school (Barbie princess wasn't my steeze), I own a life size Pee-Wee cardboard cut-out, and will proudly dance to The Champs song "Tequila" in platform shoes!

Needless to say I am super excited for his show to come back to life this coming October 2010 in NYC on Broadway! Supposedly there's only 6 weeks of performances!?!?
